Privacy Policy
Your privacy, anonymity, and security are the foundational principles of the Black@ASU project. This page details how your data is handled when you interact with this site, the survey, and the reporting tools.
1. Zero-Tracking Commitment
We do not use tracking pixels, Google Analytics, or third-party advertising cookies. Your visit to this site is not tracked across the web. We do not collect browser fingerprints or log your IP address when you submit data.
2. Survey Responses
When you complete the Campus Climate Survey:
- Your responses are completely anonymous.
- We do not record your IP address, device information, or any personally identifiable information (PII).
- Data is stored in an encrypted PostgreSQL database. Access is strictly limited to authorized research administrators.
- Aggregated data displayed on the "Live Data" dashboard enforces a minimum response threshold (currently 5) to prevent deductive identification.
3. Incident Reporting
When you submit an Incident Report:
- You have the option to submit completely anonymously or provide contact information for follow-up.
- If you choose to submit anonymously, the report is securely routed to the designated administrators without any attached metadata linking it back to you.
- Report contents are encrypted at rest and in transit.
4. Data Export and Retention
Anonymized survey data may be exported by authorized administrators for analysis using statistical software (like SPSS or R). Data is retained only as long as necessary for the project's lifecycle, after which it will be permanently deleted.
